4 years ago in the final of WC 2019 Eng had defeated NZ by the slightest of the margins. In fact it was decided by one of the most controversial tie breaker methods of all time where England won the cup because they had hit more numbers of 6s. This too after the match was tied due to an overthrow resulted by no fault of the fielder. It has been a long time since then. Thrashing that NZ gave Eng today was no way close to poetic justice. But it definitely has some sense of fairness. NZ made a laughing stock of the target of 282 and crossed it with nearly 15 overs remaining and by 9 wickets. England would need some serious rethinking of their tactics and so do our beloved Veteran (no explanation necessary).
In the IL master group the invincible proved yet again why he had rightfully received this name. The Lone wolf tried hard and the Chupe Rustam did put a last ditch effort to get the match down to the wire. But the Invincible did what he does best and had the last lough. Well done and great opening to the tournament. Keep it up.
The Chupe Rustam who just the other day was pushed into the arena of dreams 11 by the Lone wolf against his will, took his revenge the very first day by beating her to the second spot. In fact he could probably have won if England scored slightly more runs. He is as we all aware is true holder of his name Chupe Rustam. Never underestimate him. Well done mate very well done and best of luck.
Finally, the very first wooden spoon of the tournament goes to the Veteran. Mark my word, he will be back in the winning zone soon.
