The match report by the Veteran: The 16th match of the WC 2023 had no surprises in store for us as the favorite New Zealand blew away the underdog Afghanistan by 149 runs. With this New Zealand now have 4 wins in a row and they sit comfortably at the top of the table.

In the IL Master group, the Dark Horse not only claimed victory, he reclaimed the top position of the leader board from the Lone Wolf. Naturally, it was his uncanny selection of captain as well as team which resulted in this win. Just to give an idea, he had taken all Afghanistan bowlers and all New Zealand batsmen in a match where Afghanistan scored only 139 runs which means it is dominated by New Zealand bowlers and still achieved a win. Only way to describe this is unreal and eerie. However, this is very well expected from Dark Horse and we are used to this now. Great win mate, congratulations.

The second position went to the Invincible. After back to back very bad performances, the Invincible made some changes in his tactics and made a more balanced team taking into account New Zealand is the overwhelming favorite. Although he did not have the answer to Dark Horses mysterious tactics, he managed to do quite well. Nevertheless, he should be happier with this performance given his recent form. This may be the come back he was waiting for and we would see better from him in following games. Best of luck for that.

The game of cricket is a great leveler. The Lone Wolf is the latest example of that. She with her excellent tactics backed by some mysterious power came to top in the very last match, but with an abysmal performance in this one she not only got the wooden spoon here, her position in the leader board is dropped to fifth.
