The match report by the Veteran: The 32nd match of this world cup was between two probable semi finalists SA and NZ. While SA played like the world champion the NZ did exactly the opposite. With this loss New Zealand now needs to win 2 in 2 to secure birth in the semis. In today’s match De-Cock made his fourth century of this world cup but Dussen played even better to ensure a total of 385. In reply New Zealand got all out by 36 overs and lost the match by a massive 190 runs.

In the IL Master group, we have a new winner after 32nd match. The Dude was unlucky when he came to very top the last time as because of tie-breaker rule he lost to Invincible though they both had the highest point. However, today he came back from behind and with a casual efficiency over took the favourites of this match. This time he did not give any chance to those other masters and won by some margin. Frankly, it did not look like his match until last 5 overs. In the end his choice of vice captain Glenn Phillips suddenly came out of no where and made quick fire 50 ball 60 and that resulted him racing past five or six masters to the very top. In fact, we were debating about who among the Debutant and Lone wolf will top the match a few overs before the end where we did not think remotely that fate had something else written. Awesome game Dude. Congratulations.

The second position went to the Lone Wolf. Third time in the last three matches she came too close to the top. But alas, she did not have the winner’s luck. Nonetheless, she is going through a great patch and a win is not very far. With this performance she also caught up with the leader board toppers and couple of more such games could get her to the very top. Her ascend to the top was not very smooth though, she had her share of successes as well as the failures. In fact, she is the only one in the group so far with 2 consecutive wooden spoons twice. She did not get disheartened by the losses, instead it battle hardened her and made her resilient. She is in true sense a Lone Wolf. Great game tonight Lone Wolf. Congratulations.

There had been a clutch at the very last ball in the bottom where the Veteran (yours truly) managed to go pass the Invincible. Hard luck Invincible for the spoon tonight. Better luck next time.
