The match report by the Veteran: The 44^th match of the world cup was between England and Pakistan. There were some unrealistic and impractical calculation which would have allowed Pakistan to qualify for the semis. However, so utopian was the chance that it was simply impossible. In the end Pakistan did not even manage to win the match. England after scoring a massive 337, restricted Pakistan to 244 and won the match.

In the IL Masters’ group, it was the Dude who won this match. Dude is known for his casual elegance. So, we were not surprised when after getting a wooden spoon in the morning he comes back to win the next match. It is also not surprising to us when he claimed that he did not know that he got an wooden spoon and a win in back to back matches long after they were over. Because that is exactly what Dude is. He does not care for the numbers or the statistics. He plays as and when he wants to play. It does not mean that he does not know how to play. In fact he won 3 games to prove that he knows what he is doing. He simply does not care. Great game Dude. Congratulations.

In the fag end of the tournament, the Bond, it looks like, came back to form. In the last 3 matches, he won 1 and came second in 2 of them. In fact, he could have won all the 3 with some bit of luck. Well played Bond. Slightly late though to claim the trophies, however, as some wise man once said, “Better late than never”. We know second position does not suit you. However, it is after all the second best position after the top. So, I would say be happy and keep doing your best. Good match today. Congratulations for that.

In the end, the wooden spoon of the match went to the Invincible. Invincible had a dream start of the tournament. he was doing quite well until a few matches back. In fact, he is at number two in the leader board position even after this match. However, he would not be happy with his overall performance. He needs at least one win in the next 4 matches to win a trophy. Good luck for that and hard luck in this match.
